Web design
Firstly you’ll need a logo and content you’d like placed on page. These can either be provided by you or outsourced at an additional cost.
Secondly, you’ll need hosting, and a domain.
Thirdly, you’ll need some examples of websites or web design that you like and some you dislike.
Content is the written and visual aspects of a website. Specifically, these refer to your website’s written words and any imagery you’d like used.
All projects will require content upfront. I will need to consider all elements and understand the overall intended outcome before we start with design.
A domain name is your website’s address that people type into the browser search bar, to hit your website. For example, our domain name is www.greymatterdesigns.co.za.
Your domain will be an annual fee between you and your chosen provider.
Web hosting is the location of your files and where your website actually ‘lives’. Hosting provides the connection between someone typing in your website and your browser fetching the files.
Your hosting will be a monthly or annual fee between you and your chosen provider.
Our website design process takes 1-3 weeks. That’s why we’re often booked out in advance, giving each client the attention and creative energy they deserve! Trust us — it’s definitely worth the wait.
Before we begin working together, we’ll usually have an initial online meeting to discuss the project. Once we get started, most of the communication will take place over email.
This makes the process a lot easier as we’ll have all the information saved and can refer to it later.
